Daily life, responsibilities, unexpected circumstances. All this and much more is a cause that we get overwhelmed and stressed out. We always have something to worry about or to resolve. That’s life. So, if this is something that will continually be part of our lives, what is the best way to use and eliminate stress and worry for good?
I believe you already know that you become what you think about. So if you can grow to any person you chose to be, I believe that you can also be in charge of your thoughts and learn how to control any situation. It is all about proper thinking and asking the right questions.
If we don’t control our thoughts, we can easily slip and end up in some anxiety and stress. It is why I would love to share with you these three highly effective ways how to eliminate stress by using your thinking. It helped me in the past, and I hope it will be beneficial for you as well.
1. Start every day with positive attitude
The first thing you should do for yourself is to create your morning rituals. This activity is crucial for one good reason: if you power up yourself at the morning and start with a right attitude, it is going to be easier for you to handle anything that comes along the way.
Some of the things you can do are practicing gratitude, reminding yourself to have a good day and try your best to resolve any problem in a positive manner. If you realize this thing right at the beginning of the day, you’ll make yourself consciously aware of anything that may happen. Smile, think about the good stuff what the day can bring and enjoy.
2. Ask yourself powerful questions
Do you remember the time when something unexpected happened, and you started to panic? It completely messed you up, and you felt how the anxiety was spreading all over your body. Well, we all have been there, and the main reason for acting like this are our thoughts. As long as you learn how to control your thinking, there is no way that something or someone can control you.
Anytime you experience a situation like this, realize that it has already happened. It will take away part of your stress because you’ll understand that there is nothing you can change right now. The second thing to do is to ask yourself proper questions: What can I do to make it work? What should be the next step I can take? How can I make it better? By asking yourself right questions, you shift your focus and become more rational about the situation. And, you’ll feel more in control of what is happening. It will calm you down and give you the space to act, instead of reacting.
3. Develop proper self-talk
How do you talk to yourself when you have a lot on your plate? Do you use thoughts which empower you or disempower you? Do you think more about a solution or “why this has to happen to me” type of thinking?
Anytime you feel overwhelmed or something unexpected slap yourself on the face, take three deep breaths and give yourself 5 minutes. Just a little time of calm, rational thinking can turn the entire situation around.
Tell yourself this sentence: “I am not going to panic because I can resolve this situation without stress. I am in control of my mind, and I am certain there is a proper solution to use for this problem. I am a rational human being who is capable of handling anything.” Well, this is only an example of what you can do for yourself in a stressful situation. If some other words would work better for you, go ahead and use it.
Remember that mind can always win over any circumstances in life. The trick is that you have to train your thoughts to become powerful. You need to develop these skills because as I mentioned at the beginning, there is always going to be something in life you can worry about. Proper thoughts and attitude will determine whether you handle it as a pro, or living in fear and stress. Well, I already know which one you chose so go ahead. You can do it.
